Welcome to the Spencer County Community
Action Network
The Community Action
Network, or C.A.N., is a group of citizens dedicated
to promoting healthy lifestyles in Spencer County through the
prevention of alcohol, tobacco, other drug abuse, and violence.
|
Our Goals are:
-
To Promote a healthy,
drug-free environment in Spencer County by educating our
citizens about misperceptions regarding the use of alcohol,
tobacco, and marijuana;
-
To Reduce adolescent
substance abuse and related problems in Spencer County by
increasing the number of youth with healthy, accurate
perceptions of peer use, which will reduce the likelihood of
them engaging in substance abuse;
-
To Increase community
involvement in Spencer County by promoting positive
communication and coordination among individuals, agencies,
government, schools, law enforcement, faith community, youth,
and parents.
Our meetings are held bimonthly, and all members
of the community are encouraged to attend. Please check our
Upcoming Events section for dates and locations of upcoming
meetings.

We invite parents of youth age 13-20 to
participate in an important survey being conducted by Seven
Counties Services Prevention Division. The results of the
survey will help Jefferson County, as well as groups in
other cities and states, address underage drinking and other
important health issues in local communities. After
completing the survey, you will be eligible for the drawing
